Itinerary
Days 1-3 | Florence, San Gimignano & Chianti: art, hills and Tuscan flavours
The journey begins in Florence, among Renaissance squares and historic streets, with a guided walk followed by a welcome dinner at a traditional osteria. We then travel to San Gimignano to explore its medieval towers and artisan shops, before reaching the Chianti hills to visit a small family-run farm and taste sheep’s cheese, local wine and extra virgin olive oil.
Accommodation: Art Atelier Hotel (Firenze) or similar
Days 4-5 | Garfagnana: traditions and unspoilt nature
We enter the mountainous heart of the Garfagnana, where life still follows the rhythm of nature. Here we meet local butchers to discover Bazzone ham, a Slow Food Presidio, and walk along scenic trails through woods and pastures, with a lunch stop at a mountain refuge. Between quiet villages and shared meals, we experience a more intimate, lesser-known Tuscany.
Accommodation: Il Ciocco (Barga) or similar
Days 6-7 | Lunigiana & Versilia: ancient breads and hidden landscapes
We continue to the Lunigiana, a borderland rich in deep-rooted traditions. This is where we discover Tuscany’s oldest breads – Marocca di Casola, testaroli and panigacci – through stories, traditional techniques and a hands-on cooking class with lunch. We then explore the Corchia Cave, one of Europe’s most impressive karst cave systems, before heading to Pietrasanta.
Accommodation: Podere Conti (Pontremoli) or similar
Days 8-9 | Lucca: elegance and slow pace
The journey concludes in Lucca, a refined and compact city. A guided visit takes us along its Renaissance walls, churches and elegant streets, revealing the city’s timeless character. There is time to explore independently before gathering for a final dinner, celebrating the shared journey, the flavours discovered and the connections formed along the way.
Accommodation: The Tuscanian Hotel (Lucca) or similar

Our journeys are interactive and intimate, far from mass tourism, designed to awaken the senses and leave a lasting impression.
Who is this trip for?
This journey is perfect for those seeking authenticity, culture, and meaningful connections with local people and traditions. It’s designed for travellers who love discovering artisan heritage, regional cuisine, and breathtaking landscapes without compromising on quality or comfort.
Open to travellers of all ages (16+), this experience is ideal for those looking to step off the beaten path and immerse themselves in the real Puglia. It’s also a unique opportunity to meet Claudia Romeo in person and be guided by her in exploring her homeland through exclusive encounters with artisans and local producers.
Can I join if I’m travelling alone?
Absolutely! If you’d rather not pay the single supplement, we’ll do our best to match you with a roommate. If you prefer a private room, you can select the single supplement option (limited availability!). Just let us know your preference when booking.
How far in advance should I book?
Spots are limited to just 12 travellers, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Plus, if you book by 12 January 2026, you can take advantage of the Early Bird discount!
Are there any hidden costs or extra expenses?
No! Everything included is clearly specified. Some meals, flights, and airport transfers are not covered to give you more flexibility and freedom of choice.
Do I need to be in great shape to join?
No, but a good level of mobility is required. The tour includes walking through villages and a 6 km hike. If you prefer to skip certain active experiences, we can arrange tailored alternatives for you.
Can I personalise the itinerary or add extra experiences?
Some extra experiences can be arranged upon request. If you’d like to arrive earlier or extend your stay, we can help with hotels, transport, activities, and customised excursions - even in other regions of Italy!
What happens if I can no longer join after booking?
The cancellation policy is detailed in the Important Notes. We recommend purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
How do the meals not included work?
Some meals are not included to let you choose where to eat at your own pace. We’ll provide recommendations for the best local restaurants and trattorias to help you enjoy the finest Tuscan cuisine.
Will I have free time during the tour?
Yes! Some half-days are designed to let you explore at your own pace, relax, or discover hidden corners of Tuscany with our recommendations.
Will Claudia be present for the entire tour?
Claudia will join the group during selected moments of the journey — for example when meeting artisans featured in her videos, visiting producers she has a special connection with, or taking part in certain convivial activities. These moments are designed to give you a genuine insight into the stories, people and traditions she loves to share.
Claudia is the host and creative collaborator of this tour, while daily guiding, logistics and on-site coordination are managed by the Loliv team. Her participation is planned across various stages of the itinerary, but may vary in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond her control.
What kind of weather should I expect?
In June, Tuscany offers warm yet pleasant weather, perfect for exploring villages, rolling hills and historic cities. Average temperatures typically range between 18°C and 28°C (around 64°F-82°F), with plenty of sunshine and a low chance of rain. Evenings can be cooler, especially in hilly and mountainous areas such as the Garfagnana. We recommend bringing lightweight clothing and an extra layer for the evening.
What should I pack?
To make the most of your journey, we recommend bringing comfortable and practical clothing. Here are some useful tips for packing:
- Comfortable walking shoes, such as trekking or trainers, for exploring villages and hiking
- Swimsuit, in case you get the chance to relax in a spa or enjoy a pool
- Light jacket or waterproof layer, useful for wind or occasional rain
- Sunscreen and a hat, for sunny days
- Small backpack, ideal for hikes and daily excursions
- Layered clothing, to adapt to changing temperatures
- Power bank, to keep your phone charged during excursions
- Universal adapter (if needed, for international travellers)
- Notebook or travel journal, to jot down experiences and encounters
- Camera or smartphone, to capture your favourite moments
- Personal medication
