Tailoring is an almost innate passion for Alessandro. He learned to sew at a very young age from his tailor mother. As a teenager, he started making clothes for himself and his friends instead of buying them from the fast fashion chains. After other jobs, he decided to open his own tailoring workshop in 2021.

Alessandro will welcome you in his charming haute couture workshop in the historic centre of Putignano. This is where he started his business, turning a passion into a profession.
At the beginning of the workshop, Alessandro will introduce you to his concept of artisan tailoring: a made-to-measure garment does not follow the latest fashion trends, but respects and enhances the wearer’s style and is designed to last, in contrast to the logic of modern fast fashion.
Alessandro will then teach you how to feel and identify the differences between different types of fabric. He will also show you the different steps required to create a completely handmade haute couture garment in the true tradition of craftsmanship.
Now in the middle of the sewing lesson, Alessandro will teach you how to sew by hand with needle, thread and thimble. You will then use the techniques you have learnt to personalise a fabric bookmark to take home as a souvenir.
During the tailoring workshop, you will have time to chat with Alessandro and ask him all the questions you want to know about his story and the motivations that led him to become an artisan tailor.
