Andrea, cocktail making master

For 10 years behind the bar, he initially started working as a runner in nightclubs up until becoming a teacher in a bar tending school. Andrea is a true enthusiast of all sorts of drinks, whether alcoholic or not. Although continuing to constantly train himself too, today he teaches cocktail creation, spirits tasting, coffee making and much more to new bartenders. He likes philosophy and good whisky – every now and then he goes to Scotland in search of new distilleries.

Detailed Programme

Andrea will welcome you to the bar school where he teaches. In fact, it is much more than a bar and much more than a bartending school: it is Bari’s temple of mixology and the world of drinks. Its atmosphere is unique, decorated with real works of art, and you will be surprised to discover the fascinating secret bar where the experience takes place.

At the beginning of the cocktail making experience, Andrea will tell you about the evolution of his career as a bartender and explain the history of Italian-style aperitif cocktails such as the Spritz, the Americano and the Negroni. He will then show you the ingredients you that will use together to prepare the cocktails.

Next, getting to the heart of the experience, Andrea will guide you through the preparation of two cocktails using professional equipment. You will start with a classic aperitif cocktail such as the Spritz. Then, you will be able to unleash your creativity, inventing your own recipe from selected local ingredients, or you will prepare another classic cocktail. In this way, you will learn recipes for drinks that you can repeat to your friends at home!

Finally, while you continue savouring your cocktails, you will enjoy the magic of a typical Apulian aperitif based on local products such as focaccia and friselle with sottoli (pickled vegetables). Here you will have time to chat with Andrea and ask him all the questions you want to know about his story as a bartender and his passion for spirits.
