Katia will welcome you in her picturesque farm in the serene surroundings of Noci, Puglia. Nestled amidst rolling hills and lush greenery, the farm is a haven of peace and natural beauty, perfect for a hands-on artisanal experience.
The experience begins with a serene walk through her lush garden, where you will discover a variety of officinal plants like lavender and rosemary. Katia will share her knowledge about the properties and benefits of each plant, giving you a deeper understanding of her ingredients.
Next, you will move to the workshop, where Katia will explain the various steps that she takes to craft natural homemade soap. You will see with your own eyes how expertly Katia mixes her homemade olive oil with caustic soda to create soap. Due to the risks involved in handling caustic soda, you will watch this stage, gaining insight into the meticulous craftsmanship required.
After pouring the freshly made soap into moulds, it will be your turn to get hands-on. You will cut a metre-long bar of soap prepared by Katia 48 hours before the workshop and stamp it with custom designs. The soap will have been pre-made by Katia to ensure it has the perfect consistency for cutting.
This is a full sensory experience that will let you connect with nature and traditional craftsmanship. Throughout the experience, you will have the opportunity to relax, take in the tranquil farm surroundings and chat with Katia to ask her all the questions you want and learn more about her story as a natural soap maker.
