When most people think of Puglia, their imagination goes straight to summer: sunny beaches, whitewashed villages, and crystal-clear sea. But there’s another side to this region—a lesser-known, wintertime Puglia that reveals its most genuine and evocative character. With the project “The Magic of Winter in Puglia”, organised by Loliv with the support of Pugliapromozione – Regione Puglia, the cold season becomes the perfect opportunity to explore the region through authentic and sustainable experiences rooted in tradition, flavour, and connection to place.
Authentic and Sustainable Experiences
From 5 January to 2 February 2025, eight free events invite small groups of participants to experience a different Puglia. Guests are welcomed into immersive activities such as traditional cooking classes, ceramic and papier-mâché workshops, theatrical guided tours, nature walks, and tastings of local specialities. Each experience is designed to spark real dialogue between visitors and local communities—far removed from the usual tourist circuits.
“We want to share a Puglia that can be experienced year-round,” says Claudio Cerabino, CEO & Founder of Loliv. “These events create meaningful exchanges with local communities, shining a light on stories and traditions often left out of mainstream tourism. It’s in these genuine and intimate moments that you truly feel the soul of our land.”
Keepers of Tradition
What makes each event truly special are the people who lead them: artisans, chefs, actors, and local guides who share their knowledge with passion and authenticity. From Grottaglie’s master ceramists to the papier-mâché artists of Putignano, and the chefs revealing the secrets of traditional Apulian cuisine—every encounter becomes a journey through time and culture.
