Days 1-3 | Bari & Matera: The Historic Heart of Puglia
We start in Bari, soaking in the lively atmosphere before a welcome dinner. A journey through time takes us to the awe-inspiring Castel del Monte, a medieval masterpiece, and the ancient cave dwellings of Matera, where history is carved into the rock. On a sweet note, we visit a traditional gelateria in Ruvo di Puglia, where the secrets of an ancient family recipe are revealed.

Days 3-7 | The Itria Valley: Timeless Villages & Artisan Traditions
Among trulli and centuries-old olive groves , we meet a local farmer to explore traditional cheese-making, uncover the secrets of extra virgin olive oil, and craft our own ceramic pottery with a master potter in Grottaglie. Wandering through the whitewashed alleys of Alberobello and Monopoli, we soak in the charm of slow-paced village life.

Days 7-9 | Lecce & Beyond: History, Music & Nature

Pricing & Early Bird Discount
Do you want this experience at a special price? Don't wait too long!
The full price of the tour is €4,500 per person. However, if you book by 24 March 2025, you’ll benefit from the Early Bird discount and pay €3,900. Plus, the first four bookings get an extra discount, bringing the price down to €3,600 per person.
Prices are based on a shared double room (mostly with double beds). A single supplement is available for €650, with limited availability.
If you’re travelling alone and prefer to share, we’ll do our best to match you with a roommate. Write to us and we will work out the best solution together.
Booking and payment methods
Booking is easy! Here’s how it works:
How does the booking take place?
Simply get in touch! We’ll answer any questions you may have, and once you’re ready, you can proceed with the payment (either the deposit or the full amount). Your booking will be confirmed as soon as you receive the payment receipt and the balance due date. After that, you’ll receive detailed updates about the tour and an invitation to a pre-trip online meeting with Claudia and the other participants before departure.
How much and when to pay?
To secure your spot, a €900 deposit is required, or you can choose to pay the full amount upfront. The final balance must be paid no later than 4 August 2025 (75 days before departure).

Cancellation & Insurance
We understand that plans can change. Here is our cancellation policy for this trip:
- Up to 75 days before departure: penalty equal to the deposit (€900).
- From 74 to 30 days before departure: 50% penalty of the total trip cost. Alternatively, you can choose to receive a credit equal to 20% of the total trip cost, redeemable for another Loliv trip within 12 months.
- From 29 to 7 days before departure: 75% penalty of the total trip cost.
- Less than 7 days before departure: 100% penalty of the total trip cost.
Participant Replacement: If you find a replacement, you can transfer your spot without penalties, except for any ticket or accommodation modification costs. The replacement is possible up to 7 days before departure and is subject to logistical and organisational feasibility.
Minimum number of participants not reached
The trip requires a minimum number of 7 participants to be confirmed. If this number is not reached, Loliv reserves the right to cancel the trip. In this case, all amounts paid will be fully refunded. Participants will be notified of the cancellation at least 60 days in advance.
Travel insurance
For peace of mind while travelling, it’s essential to have the right coverage:
- Medical and baggage insurance (optional for non-residents in Italy)
- Trip cancellation insurance (optional but recommended)
We offer tailored insurance solutions for medical, baggage, and trip cancellation coverage (trip cancellation only if purchased at the time of booking). If you don’t have adequate insurance, contact us! We’ll help you find the best solution for your needs.
Activity Level & Accessibility
This tour is designed for those who love to actively explore and experience authentic local culture.
Each day involves walking through villages and historic towns. The itinerary also includes a 9 km nature hike and an 7 km cycling route.
It is not suitable for travellers with reduced mobility, as some routes involve uneven terrain, stairs, and cycling. That said, we are committed to being as inclusive as possible! If you have specific needs, let us know and we will do our best to adapt the experience for you.
If you prefer to skip a more active experience, such as the hike or cycling, we can arrange alternative options, including time to relax, independent exploration, or a taxi transfer.

We recommend planning your trip so that you arrive in Bari by 16:00 on Day 1. This will give you time to settle in before the welcome dinner.

Can I join if I’m travelling alone?
Absolutely! If you’d rather not pay the single supplement, we’ll do our best to match you with a roommate. If you prefer a private room, you can select the single supplement option (limited availability!). Just let us know your preference when booking.
How far in advance should I book?
Spots are limited to just 15 travellers, and this is a one-time-only event in 2025, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Plus, if you book by 24 March 2025, you can take advantage of the Early Bird discount!
Are there any hidden costs or extra expenses?
No! Everything included is clearly specified. Some meals, flights, and airport transfers are not covered to give you more flexibility and freedom of choice.
Do I need to be in great shape to join?
No, but a good level of mobility is required. The tour includes walking through villages, a 9 km hike, and an 7 km cycling route. If you prefer to skip certain active experiences, we can arrange tailored alternatives for you.
Can I personalise the itinerary or add extra experiences?
Some extra experiences can be arranged upon request. If you’d like to arrive earlier or extend your stay, we can help with hotels, transport, activities, and customised excursions - even in other regions of Italy!
What happens if I can no longer join after booking?
The cancellation policy is detailed in the Important Notes. We recommend purchasing a comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
How do the meals not included work?
Some meals are not included to let you choose where to eat at your own pace. We’ll provide recommendations for the best local restaurants and trattorias to help you enjoy the finest Apulian cuisine.
Will I have free time during the tour?
Yes! Some half-days are designed to let you explore at your own pace, relax, or discover hidden corners of Puglia with our recommendations.
What is the weather like in Puglia in mid-October?
Puglia enjoys mild and pleasant temperatures in mid-October, perfect for exploring without the summer heat. Average temperatures range from 16°C to 24°C (approximately 61°F to 75°F), with mostly sunny days and a slight chance of rain. We recommend bringing layered clothing to adapt to changing conditions.
What should I pack?
To make the most of your journey, we recommend bringing comfortable and practical clothing. Here are some useful tips for packing:
